It’s the time of the full moon at the end of the summer season, a time to reap what has been grown and celebrate with a party. This year’s mid-autumn equinox is 22nd September and though our city-based festivals have a distant link to these farming, pagan rituals we still like a good party, especially when they’re on Bermondsey Street. Enjoying its eleventh year the BSF is a great community celebration planned for Saturday 16th September. If you haven’t been to one yet then you should put it in your diary, and if you have been to one before - you’re unlikely to miss another! Soon it will be time to come in from the weather outside, to a warm and welcoming interior. My own personal winter ritual is to look for a cosy venue, a roaring fire, hearty food and to settle down with a good book in a comforting atmosphere.
